About the Role

The role of the Optical Assistant is key to the smooth running of the practice. The ideal candidate is someone who takes ownership and pride in their work.

 

Our Optical Assistant's have a varied day compared to typical OAs, you’ll get involved in many activities throughout the practice, so your day here will fly by!

The practice also has a track record of investing in our people. We know that it's critical to your growth and long term happiness.

Full training is provided, depending on your needs. You may have extensive optical experience, or you might need training from scratch. Your experience will be reflected in your agreed salary.

Previous successful candidates have been from healthcare, customer service and retail.

The day to day job involves:

  • Booking appointments by telephone & in person
  • Running a busy reception desk
  • Preparing patients for their eye examination and building rapport
  • Completing pre-screening examinations accurately
  • Assisting with dispensing glasses as well as dealing with repairs and adjustments
