About the Role

Batty and Dexter Opticians, an award-winning independent practice, is seeking a highly experienced and proactive Senior Optical Assistant to join our close-knit team and play a key role in driving excellence in patient care and practice operations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide senior leadership within the front-of-house team, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of clinics
  • Take ownership of improving workflows, patient journey touchpoints, and overall service delivery
  • Offer expert, tailored advice to patients on frame and lens options, utilising your extensive product knowledge
  • Lead the training, mentoring, and development of junior staff members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
  • Manage key operational tasks such as appointment scheduling, inventory control, and compliance with data protection policies
  • Act as a point of escalation for patient queries and concerns, ensuring prompt and professional resolution
  • Champion the practice’s values by maintaining the highest standards of patient care and professionalism
  • Build and nurture strong community relationships, acting as a respected ambassador for Batty and Dexter Opticians

Candidate Profile:

  • Significant prior experience as an Optical Assistant, ideally with some supervisory or leadership exposure
  • A confident communicator with a warm, professional manner and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Proactive and strategic thinker with a demonstrated ability to improve processes and drive service excellence
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, capable of managing multiple responsibilities effectively
  • A collaborative team player.
  • Flexibility to work Saturdays is essential
