About the Role

We are looking for a full-time Optical Assistant (5 days per week, 38.65 hours). Your working pattern would be Monday to Friday and one week per month Tuesday to Saturday 8.45am-5pm with 30 minutes unpaid lunch.

 

This is a role for someone who genuinely enjoys helping people, building trust with patients and being part of a professional team that delivers a high quality and caring service. You'll have the time, resources and encouragement to do your job to a high standard, without feeling rushed or pressured. We are a small team where collaboration is a big part of how we work. You'll play a key role in making sure every patient has a smooth, positive experience from start to finish.

 

As an Optical Assistant, you'll support patients with expert advice on frames, lens options and frame fittings whilst delivering ongoing care that makes patients feel confident, comfortable and cared for. You'll offer product knowledge that's tailored to each person's visual and lifestyle needs and help manage more complex prescriptions with the support of the wider team. You'll also assist with day-to-day practice tasks, including performing pre-testing and visual fields as needed.

 

Your opinions and ideas will be greatly valued to help pick new frame styles with the rest of the team during frame rep meetings. You’ll assist to maintain stock levels of frames, contact lenses and accessories.  You’ll be a friendly, reliable point of contact for both patients and colleagues. Above all, you'll be able to represent the practice values, have an eye for detail with a caring, calm and can-do attitude to every part of your day.

Additional Information:

  • This role is ideal for someone with previous experience working in optics.
  • Our frame selection includes Etnia Barcelona, Sihlouette, Morrell, Polo, Ray-Ban, Joules and Ted Baker.
  • We have 1 consulting room.
  • We run an audiology clinic 3 Mondays per month.
  • We are a team of 4 currently.
  • This role requires you to work mainly Monday to Friday and once per month Tuesday- Saturday.
  • Our appointment times are 50 mins.
