Optical Administrator – Full Time | Headcorn Eye Centre
We’re looking for a full-time Optical Administrator to join our team in Headcorn, someone who thrives at keeping everything running smoothly. In this role, you’ll be at the heart of the practice, managing diary schedules, handling referrals, dealing with invoices, and keeping all administrative processes on track.
You’ll also occasionally support patients with pre-screening and assist with frame dispensing, helping them feel confident, comfortable, and cared for.
This is a role for someone who genuinely enjoys helping people and takes pride in delivering honest, professional advice. Our ideal candidate builds trust with patients, supports the team, and ensures our service is seamless from start to finish. You’ll have the time, tools, and encouragement to do your job to a high standard, without feeling rushed or pressured. Collaboration is key here - you’ll be the central link that keeps the practice running efficiently while making every patient interaction smooth and positive.
As an Optical Administrator, you’ll support patients with everything from appointment management and diary coordination to frame styling, lens choices, fittings, adjustments, and aftercare. You’ll contribute to day-to-day practice tasks, maintain displays and equipment, and be a reliable, friendly point of contact for patients and colleagues alike. Above all, you’ll bring a keen eye for detail, a proactive approach, and a genuine care for people in every part of your day.
About You
You’re efficient, organised, and thrive on keeping things running smoothly.
You’re flexible and able to jump between tasks, whether that’s managing the diary, handling referrals, or supporting patients with pre-screening and frame dispensing.
You’re resilient, with a can-do attitude, and enjoy being the central link that keeps a team working together seamlessly.
While a background in optics is desirable, it’s not essential; we’re happy to provide training and support.
Experience in healthcare or any patient-facing role is a big plus, as it shows you have the skills and empathy to make patients feel comfortable and confident in your care.
